The detail for this figure is amazing, but I still love my old G.I. Joe's from the early 70's with the kung fu grip.

What Kevin said. Red is the original color on the covers of the comics, inside they were in glorious black and white.

Wow, that's is a truly fitting prize for the topic. Is the inside art as terrible as the cover art?

The original comics incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles featured them all wearing red masks. The color differential was added for the cartoon.

I'm sorry, but those turtle toys epically fail. They all have red masks???? No, no, NO! As someone who was a HUGE TMNT fan I do not like this. They think if they give them weapons and stick a certain expression on their face it's cool? What are they too lazy to use a different pain color?

Leonardo-Blue
Raphael-Red
Michaelagelo-Orange
Donatello-Purple

They need to get it right.

Thanks for the confession. It's nice to know that you don't know everything about everything.
I got into TMNT after reading the very first issue (only 3,000 copies were made) back in 1984. The same friend who gave me that comic later introduced me to the first issue of the Tick in 1988. Great guy.
If you ever want to borrow the original Eastman & Laird stories to read I have them all.
